V roce 2018 se uskutečnila jedna z rekonstrukcí Staroměstského orloje. Restaurátoři při prohledávání prostoru narazili na zazděná kamenná zvířata, která se nacházela v rozích pod kalendáriem. Našel se například lev, dravec a nad ním stojící sova. Tyto plastiky pochází už z počátku 15. století.
V jedné ze sošek apoštolů něco chrastilo a ukázalo se, že socha sv. Tomáše skrývá tajnou věc, o které se doposud nevědělo. Byl to vzkaz od bývalého sochaře Vojtěcha Suchardy. V kovovém pouzdře se skrýval výtisk novin z roku 1948 a osmnácti stránkový dopis, kde sochař popsal zmiňovanou rekonstrukci i jeho neuskutečněné plány s orlojem. Dále si hořce postěžoval na politické poměry v zemi. Na základě této události nechalo vedení Prahy uložit vzkaz o současné rekonstrukci do makovic věže pro budoucí restaurátory.
Na počest této rekonstrukce byl Prahou vytvořen mapping, který nyní sledujete.

One of the reconstructions of the Old Town Clock took place in 2018. While they searched the area, the restorers came across several stone animals constructed into the wall and placed in the corners under the calendar. They found, for example, a lion and a bird of prey with an owl standing above it. These sculptures date back to the early 15th century.
Interestingly, something was rattling in one of the statues of the apostles. It turned out that the statue of St. Thomas was hiding a secret that no one had ever seen before. In a small metal container was a message from the former sculptor, Vojtěch Sucharda. It contained a newspaper copy from 1948 and an 18-page letter in which the sculptor described the reconstruction and his unrealised plans for the astronomical clock. He also expressed his emotional bitterness over the unpleasant conditions in the country. After this, a new message regarding the last reconstruction was placed in the town hall tower and is waiting to be discovered by future generations.
